Eurozone consumer confidence for May -6.5 vs -7.7 estimate

Euro zone consumer confidence for May 2019

The flash estimate for the May euro zone consumer confidence came in better than expected at -6.5 versus -7.7 est.  For the EU countries, the confidence was so negative but rose to -6.2 from -7.3.  

At the end of 2018, the Eurozone confidence was at -8.3 and the EU countries it was at -7.6.
